Joyce Meyer - Calmar, IA
“I’m interested in promoting the beautiful and historic areas while capturing the different moods and seasons of change.”
The award-winning photographer has been on covers of national magazines (recently on the Holiday issue of Our Iowa Magazine), in various other magazines, websites, on television photography shows, and her commercial work can be seen all over Iowa. Besides her work as a fine art photographer, she is also a photojournalist for the Cedar Rapids Gazette and freelance writer and photographer for local newspapers in the area. Joyce also teaches photography classes and has her work on exhibit/for sale at Plum Creek Gallery in Fredericksburg, with various area stores also selling her work, especially her popular line of nature inspired cards done on watercolor paper.
Photography started out as a hobby in midlife and became a career with her first photo assignment from “The Iowan” magazine in 2007. She then resigned as the librarian at South Winneshiek High School in Calmar to pursue a writing and photography career. More of her work can be found on her website at http://joycemeyer.me.
